theres quite an interesting thing going on in Canadian Federal politics right now.

The Party in power (conservatives) have less than 50% of the seats.

So technically they have to work with the other parties (yes we have several) to ensure bills get passed. If any bill involving money gets defeated an election has to be called.

Well the opposition (Liberals) have a flaky leader and no money to fight an election so they don't want one.

So the conservative leader is throwing out bills that increasingly grind the opposition. (ones they would normally vote against)

The liberals are being "whipped" into NOT voting so that the bills pass and theres no election.

now the third place and fourth place parties are demanding to become the official opposition (the queen /her representative ceremonially asks the parties to form the gov't or the opposition.)

the leader of the liberals every day becomes a bigger idiot because he says blah blah blah against the gov't and then sits on his hands during vote's

besides being quite sick, it's quite amusing to see the liberals (they called themselves the naturally governing party) get back in spades what they dished out for the last twenty years
