need some encouragement
Hey guys--
I have not posted in a while, but I would appreciate some prayers and any words of encouragement.
1. my wife is dealing with some possible illness, and she is a great woman of God...Proverbs 31 type. She is fighting the emotions that go with the unknown.
2. Financially, I have not been a good leader, and i am trying to get a hold, with Jesus, of things. We are not desolate, but we are on one salary (a public school teacher) and she homeschools. I would not change our quality of life for anything, but we are living from check to check, and just when some extra money comes in, poof, it's gone for something that just happened to come up.
3. My teaching job stinks...I teach ninth grade, and the kids are so disrespectful, and most of the "support" staff makes excuses for the kids and blames the teachers...I have to just stop sometimes in the middle of class and pray silently while the kids go crazy...I wish I could find another job.
God is really good to me...I just need to feel His presence right now, and I know He's got it under control.
Thanks for reading this and for sending up a prayer.

prayer request
definitely praying for you brother, praying for your wife and the emotions there and the unknown, and with God nothing is unknown.
praying for your finances, i so know what your going through there buddy have been so challenged there, and praying that God will bless there.
Praying for your job situation as well, that the kids see you for who you are as a teacher not just getting paid to be there but as someone who should be respected and hope that they see Him in you because you never know if they are seeing Him at all.
Praying bro.

I know how you feel. Ninth Graders can be extremely annoying, and they like to mess with the teachers. There isn't much you can do, if you teach if disrespectful class that has potential, you could try to be more strict with your policies. Ask the administration to switch to a higher grade level, since they are a little bit more relaxed and mature. Ultimately, if the students are not doing well they have no one to blame but themselves. Switch to teaching AP, since the students are a little focused. Otherwise, talk to the other teachers for advice about this.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I pray that you will get through this hard time!

I work very hard at this, as I depend on Christ's mighty power that works within me.

Being married to an English teacher, I feel for you. My wife taught 9th for a year, then went on to 10th AP.
Her best class, though, were three-peaters who were 18 and 19 year old freshmen. She basically wrote her own curriculum for the class.
As for your wife, fear of the unknown is one of the worst fears there is. I pray that she finds what's wrong and that it can be remedied.

You and your wife will have my prayers. I am believing with all of those who have joined in agreement with you that through it all, you have the victory.
