I always find it helpful to have the verses posted. Here they are:
James 3
Taming the Tongue
1Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
3When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt[ a] water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. Two Kinds of Wisdom
13Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. 16For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
17But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.

This verse jumps out at me. It's interesting that you have posted on wisdom because that's what I've been looking at lately. Specifically, I have been studying the life of Solomon and David. And how David beseeched his son to seek wisdom. I have been praying that God grants me wisdom in all areas of my life. In ministry, in raising my family, in my relationships with my kids and others. James 3:17 tells me what that wisdom should look like. Sadly, I fall short in some of these areas.

I have been seeking wisdom a lot too lately;the contrast of true wisdom to what we as humnas see as wisdom is huge!Then think of what we read from Paul';sorry,have to look it up,but it says about the wisdom of men as foolishness to God,and God's wisdom seeming as foolishness to us.in Corinthians i think.

Here's David's charge to Solomon:
1 Kings 2
David’s Instructions to Solomon
1( A) When David’s time to die drew near, he commanded Solomon his son, saying, 2( B) "I am about to go the way of all the earth.( C) Be strong, and show yourself a man, 3and keep the charge of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses,( D) that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, 4that the LORD may( E) establish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying,( F) 'If your sons pay close attention to their way,( G) to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul,( H) you shall not lack[ a] a man on the throne of Israel.'
Remember what Solomon wrote in Proverbs 1:8?
8( A) Hear, my son, your father’s instruction,
and forsake not your mother’s teaching,
Solomon learned his lessons well and led others to seek wisdom too.
Proverbs 2
Proverbs 2
The Value of Wisdom
1( A) My son,( B) if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
2making your ear attentive to wisdom
and inclining your heart to understanding;
3yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice( C) for understanding,
4if you seek it like( D) silver
and search for it as for( E) hidden treasures,
5then( F) you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
6For( G) the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
7he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is( H) a shield to those who( I) walk in integrity,
8guarding the paths of justice
and( J) watching over the way of his( K) saints.
9( L) Then you will understand( M) righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path;
10for wisdom will come into your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
11( N) discretion will( O) watch over you,
understanding will guard you,
12delivering you from the way of evil,
from men of perverted speech,
13who forsake the paths of uprightness
to( P) walk in the ways of darkness,
14who( Q) rejoice in doing evil
and( R) delight in the perverseness of evil,
15men whose( S) paths are crooked,
( T) and who are( U) devious in their ways.

1 Corinthinas 1
Where is the wise person? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? God has turned the wisdom of the world into nonsense, hasn't he? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know God, [j] God was pleased to save those who believe through the nonsense of our preaching. 22Jews ask for signs, and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach the Messiah crucified. He is a stumbling block to Jews and nonsense to gentiles, 24but to those who are called, [k] both Jews and Greeks, the Messiah is God's power and God's wisdom. 25For God's nonsense is wiser than human wisdom, [l] and God's weakness is stronger than human strength. [m]
26Brothers, think about your own calling. Not many of you were wise by human standards, [n] not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose what is nonsense in the world to make the wise feel ashamed. God chose what is weak in the world to make the strong feel ashamed. 28And God chose what is insignificant in the world, what is despised, what is nothing, in order to destroy what is something, 29so that no one [o] may boast in God's presence. 30It is because of God [p] that you are in union with the Messiah Jesus, who for us has become wisdom from God, as well as our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written, “The person who boasts must boast in the Lord.” [q]1 30

It's incredible how much the Bible speaks on wisdom! There is a mountainful of information there! Sounds like God was serious about it?

Man's wisdom will make him proud. God's wisdom will make him humble. What a concept.

"The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of god, for who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. we have not received the spirit of the world but the spirit who is from God, that we may understand what god has freely given us. this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the spirit, expressing spiritual truths in Spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not except the things that come from the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgments: " " For who has known the Mind of the Lord That he may instruct Him?" " But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corithians 2: 10-16

Reason: Had to make sure I was quoting the Bible rightly.
